By Car
If you would like to travel to Bulgaria by car you may use your national driving license if it complies with international standards. When entering by car, you must state which border crossing you would be using when leaving and paying a road tax accordingly. Below is a list of Bulgaria’s land border crossings. Also, a regular Danube car ferry connects Vidin with Calafat in Romania. The speed limit in the Bulgaria is as follows: 50 km/h in populated areas, 90 km/h outside populated areas, and 120 km/h on motorways. Petrol stations are located at every 30 to 50 km.

By Water
Traveling to Bulgaria by water is also possible way to enter the country. There are two Black Sea ports located in the main Bulgarian seaside towns Varna and Bourgas which provide direct links with Ukraine, Russia and countries of the Mediterranean basin. There is also an extremely good access to Central and Western Europe through River Danube. The biggest Bulgarian port on the River Danube is located in Rousse and there is another port in Vidin.
By Train
