Sofia is an 8 000-years-old city, one of the most ancient cities in Europe but one of the youngest capitals. Nevertheless many of Sofia’s sacred placed are still outside rushing capital. In the skirts of surrounding mountains, amidst silence and aromatic breeze of splendid nature, unsuspecting visitor makes amusing discoveries – the famous Boyana Church, the native place of European Renaissance with its unique frescos from the middle of 13th century; Dragalevtsi Monastery, an operating convent founded in 1345 and preserving its wonderful frescos from the period.
